Update on robbery plus GREAT news

Thu May 21, 2009, 7:55 AM
I know I only have a few watchers but I love you all! I would like to thank you for the support you have given me with the break in. It has meet soo much to me!

To update you. The cops haven't come back with us on anything. Is no news good news? My roommate is trying to make a claim on his laptop and he needs information about the case and he feels he is getting a run-around. My sister (we own the house together) and I decided not to file a claim with the insurance company. The deductible is $500 and the only thing of value that we would claim would be my computer monitor which was only $250ish. My father came over and fixed the window that was broken (which was point of entry) the glass didn't cost much and his labor fee was a cup of coffee. My sisters CC that was stolen was found. She had already canceled it, so it was useless. I am sure they just tossed it out the window of they GET AWAY CAR! (The funny thing about her CC was she got a Facebook message from the person that found it. Modern technology is fascinating and scary at the same time. Just the fact that someone can type in someones name on the internet and get a hold of them give stalking a whole new name.)

We thought the drama of robberies was over after the punks broke into my house but sadly it was not. We are positive, even though the cops seem to not be moving on it (and I know they need more proof then angry neighborhood people pointing fingers but really), that the kids that live to my west of my house tried to break into the apartment (it is a house but has apartments in it) south of my house 3 days after they hit mine. The guy that lived their was woken up by the sound of breaking glass (same way they got into my house) he caught them as they were reaching in the unlock the door. They took off running and he chased them door. He saw them run to the house that is west of mine. The cops told my neighbor that they couldn't do anything about it even tho he witnessed it. They said that they didn't actually break into his house. All they could charge them with was destruction of property. My neighbor was flaming mad. He has gone to everyone on the street and talked to them about what happen. (it kinda reminds me of high school when someone is plotting against a kid that they want no one to like) I think this has gotten us all closer together in the neighborhood. All we need to door is catch the kids in the act or get them evicted from the house they are renting. In the long run that won't help their next victims but it will make me feel safer.

GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got (like at 9:00 this morning) my new Nikon Lens AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm F/3.5-5.6G IF-ED. It is now on my D90 all flashy and sexy like! I got it used on ebay. I find ebay annoying. You have to watch it like a hawk or you miss out of things. I finally got my lens for $550 which seems to be average price for a gently used lens.

It is a nice day today. I soo want to run out and test it. Sadly I have to finish sitting here all day at work before I can go venture out and play with landscapes and zooming close on animals and birds and stuff... exciting!

I know my camera collection is small compared to some people but I now have over 2,000 invested in this hobby of mine. I have been told that I should call my insurance company and insure my camera like one would insure an antique. What do you guys think?

 Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for the support.
Annette
